Jessica discussed the Hour of Code and its importance as a 21st century skill. We walked through it as a team on code.org to be prepared to do it with our students.

The Leader In Me discussion:

-Vickie Leucht tried a lesson from TLIM where the students wrote a positive thing about another student.
-Toni Ice discussed the win-win habit and how it works in her room.

Georgia Math:
-Mrs. Ice discussed that Georgia Math is choppy and links don't work or documents aren't attached. Mr. Hill said we can supplement with Eureka, K-5 Teaching Math, etc.

Lucy Calkins:
-Mrs. Tindle said it's going okay but wanted to know if we could talk to someone/school that has already implemented it. Mr. Hill advised us to contact our colleagues that we had in our cadres at TNHS.
-Mrs. Tindle had done research on the internet to help guide her.

Engage ELA:
-General discussion of letters and sight words.

Celebrations:


Three day weekend!


Looked at assessments and how they are guiding instruction.
Helen-Number assessments: work on number recognition.
Dana-Letter assessment: What percentage of students knew each letter.  Time to spend on each letter.
Vickie-Letter assessment: High percentage knowing lower case.  Seeing increase in upper case and not as much growth on lower case.
            Number assessment: Over half the class is recognizing numbers 0-10.
Toni-Letter assessment: Data used to group students to help with varied levels.


Discussion of Number Talks: One book ordered per grade level to be kept in team leaders room.


Leader in Me purchased for us.  Read pages 1-11 for next week.
